HB 77                                                                        
A message dated March 23, 1999, was read stating the Senate has                
passed CSHB 77(FIN) with the following amendment:                              
                                                                               
Page 3, line 17:                                                               
	Delete "and"                                                                  
                                                                               
Page 3, line 21, following "Affairs":                                          
	Insert "; and                                                                 
		(8)  a state resident, other than a member of the state                     
legislature, who is appointed jointly by the president of the senate           
and the speaker of the house of representatives after considering              
the joint recommendations of the Alaska Federation of Natives and              
the Alaska Municipal League."                                                  
                                                                               
And so, the following is transmitted for consideration:                        
                                                                               
CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 77(FIN) am S                                            
"An Act relating to the Joint Armed Services Committee, a                     
permanent interim committee of the Alaska State Legislature; and               
providing for an effective date."
